2024 was the year we whipped the living room into shape. A full rip out and re-do with underfloor insulation, a fresh skim plaster and a fab curved wall added. And of course, the sideboard found on the street to finish it off!

Look at this gorgeous sideboard! I had been searching for the right size piece to finish the lounge off, setting up alerts on eBay and vinterior and trawling the internet. Then a message from a friend came in (thanks @ekallonen) to say this one was sitting on a street near her - looking very sorry for itself and needing a new home. Skip to a couple weeks of TLC and this sassy beaut now takes pride of place in the lounge - looking hot af!

This is actually the second sideboard we’ve found on the streets and brought back to life. I’m considering opening a sideboard rescue centre!

It’s the time of the season indeed - cold, dark and for the next few days, loud!
‘Tis not a problem at Chez Fentum though now we have our @hillarysblinds curtains and blinds. The electric blinds have been programmed to close at dusk (actual game changer!), the curtains are thermally lined to keep out the cold and reduce outside sound too and the voiles keep the kitchen cosy and warm. It’s clear I love them but Rory the cat is in actual cat heaven - warm and safe in ‘his chair’ and if you know me, you know that if he’s happy then I’m happy!
